The Rocking JP Ranch is owned by Jerry Pettijohn. The ranch is contained within 1,500 acres of land and four lease pastures, roughly 100 miles south of Fort Worth, Texas. Rocking JP Ranch breeds and raises a wide array of quarter horses and paint horses ranging from weanlings to finished quality horses. The ranch sells horses at all stages and levels of cutting, barrel racing, and roping, as well as an excellent range of ranch horses. Rocking JP sells weanlings, yearlings, broodmares, and riding horses at affordable prices.

Additionally, the ranch raises Bucking Bulls and show quality and commercial cattle, including the Black Angus, Hereford, and Brahman breeds.

The Staff

The hands at Rocking JP Ranch have many years of experience training horses for cutting, heading, calf roping, general ranch work, barrel racing, and team penning. Owner Jerry Pettijohn and ranch manager Ashleigh Cole have hired some of the best in the business. John Ross is a veteran cutting horse trainer with a strict equine philosophy. Sheila Zant is a renowned barrel race horse trainer, and Bobby Lewis is currently training geldings for roping, reining and cow work. Rounding out the Rocking JP team are JB and Dakota Kirchenschlager, the head and heel horse trainers, and Colton Hale, the colt starter and ranch horse trainer.

Meet The Rocking JP Ranch Horses

Rocking JP Ranch features numerous premium horses in their respective fields of discipline. The ranch is particularly proud of Lil Fancy Swinging, a 2001 AQHA Bay gelding and NHCA money earner. With his gorgeous brown coat, friendly disposition, and superb agility, Fancy is the ideal cutting horse. Rowdy Two Man Blue, a 2004 AQHA Blue Roan stallion, shows great promise in roping, team penning, and ranch work. Rope/ranch horse sire Blue Tripper Hancock is a 1997 Bay Roan AQHA stallion is an accomplished head horse and has won money in several competitions. These stallions are only a few of the excellent horses that make Rocking JP Ranch proud.
